Drug squad seizes half pound of meth

Eric Calderon and Veronica Hernandez are charged with multiple felonies.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Team and Crime Suppression Unit seized a half pound of methamphetamine after a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 25 South in the Tuxedo community on Wednesday, the sheriff's office said.



During the course of the traffic stop and subsequent search of the vehicle, detectives found approximately 229.5 grams (one-half pound) of methamphetamine. Two persons were arrested as a result of the search.

Eric Calderon, 31, was arrested on the following charges and remains in the Henderson County Jail under a $196,000 secured bond.

Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transport
Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver a Controlled Substance
Felony Maintaining a Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance
Driving While License Revoked

Veronica Hernandez, 24, was arrested on the following charges and remains in the Henderson County Jail under a $140,750 secured bond.

Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver a Controlled Substance
Felony Maintaining a Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance
