Pardee seeks volunteers for patient safety help

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking volunteers for its new Patient Safety Attendant Program, which is designed to support the clinical staff as they provide for the safety and well-being of patients.
“Pardee has an increased number of patients in the emergency department who need extra support, and we are asking our community to help those who are most vulnerable,” said Karla Reese, volunteer services manager at Pardee. “We are looking for compassionate, caring, personable and reliable volunteers to become patient safety attendants. These volunteers will operate under the direct supervision of the patient’s nurse or charge nurse.”
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of patients. Prospective volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older. Volunteers are on-call for specific blocks of time at their convenience.
For more information, contact Reese at 828-696-4240 or karla.reese@unchealth.unc.edu. To complete an adult volunteer application, visit pardeehospital.org/about us/volunteer.
