Mary's Burritos adding beer at new location

Mary’s Burritos has opened at a new, bigger location a couple miles up Asheville Highway from its original spot.

The popular taco and burrito restaurant started by Mary Romero has been busy in its new location, said Isaias Romero, one of two sons who helped run the restaurant. Now, they’re in an all-new space with more seating and more light than the Asheville Highway spot.
Isaias and his brother, Alex, and their father, Jose, all pitch in running Mary’s Burritos in Arden and in Hendersonville. Originally from El Salvador, the family attributes their success to good food in a friendly atmosphere. The place has a Hot Dog World vibe. It’s family run, the food is made fresh right in front of the diner and the boss is always there. Taco, burrito and quesadilla meats include steak, chicken, jerk chicken, chorizo, barbecue chicken, buffalo chicken, shrimp, fish and tofu.
“We love seeing people happy that they love our food,” Isaias says. “It’s been really busy. Used to be, it really slowed down at night.”
There’s one more reason the nighttime crowd may grow. The Romeros have a beer and wine license pending with the state. They’ll be adding draft and bottled beer plus wine.
