Help find Matti, a bloodhound who ran away

Matti

The owners of a prized bloodhound are seeking the public's help in finding the dog after she got spooked on a walk and ran away on Sunday.

Matti, a two-year-old black and tan, got away on a walk around the Best Western on Sugarloaf Road at U.S. 64, said owner Donald Ozozee. "My wife was walking her and she got startled and pulled the lead out of her hand and took off," he said. They've been looking for Matti since Sunday.

"We got a call that she might have been spotted over by the post office (on Lakewood Road) so she's been searching over there," he said. The couple, from southern Illinois, were in town for the Blue Ridge Classic of the Carolinas Dog Show.

They've been looking around Sugarloaf Road and across U.S. 64. The couple is offering a $500 reward for Matti's return or information leading to her return. For information call (618) 841-8937.
