The service to DCA begins May 9 and will be offered on a regional 50-seat jet. Service to Chicago O'Hare also starts May 9, and will be offered on a CR7, 65-seat jet with dual-class service. Both routes will operate through Oct. 31.

American now offers nonstop flights from Asheville to: Charlotte (5-7 daily departures), Chicago (Saturdays, seasonal), Dallas Fort Worth (twice daily), LaGuardia (daily, weekends), Philadelphia (twice daily) and Washington, D.C.
