MILLS RIVER — A major climbing and biking adventure facility is opening soon in Mills River.
A 40,000-square-foot training facility situated on a stunning 10-acre working farm, the Riveter hosts a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. Located on Fanning Bridge Road near Sierra Nevada and the Asheville Regional Airport, the Riveter joins outdoor adventure and environmental sustainability.
“It’s such an honor to be a part of this and I am so psyched to finally be able to share it with the community,” said Elizabeth Jackson, who, along with business partner Eric MacLeod, developed Riveter.
Touted as the first indoor bike park and climbing gym combo in the nation, the Riveter boasts over 16,000 square feet of indoor climbing terrain for adults and kids; a massive bike park with an 18,000 square foot all-weather “canopy” as well as an epic outdoor set of progressive flow lines; a yoga studio offering an array of classes from traditional to hot yoga; a conference room and community meeting spaces; a libation station; retail shop; and of course, the 10 acre farm.

DJ Seppe March and certified yoga instructor Tish Hilyer host a special live DJ yoga session from 11 a.m. to noon. The ribbon will be cut at 12:30 p.m. and the doors will open for climbing, biking and other activities. There will be games for all ages, food trucks, vendors, demos and giveaways. Pro riders and climbers will be on deck throughout the day for riding and climbing demos, signing autographs and talking shop.
The celebration will culminate in a very special live performance by the legendary DJ Logic from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The opening party is free. Day Passes & memberships will be available for purchase to those wishing to climb and bike.
Doors to the Riveter will officially open seven days a week, 52 weeks a year on Monday, Feb. 10. Day passes $25 for the climbing gym or bike park and $50 for both; monthly memberships are $75 for either activity and $100 for both. For more information visit www.RiveterNC.com.
