Reality TV show to film on Main Street Sunday

A film crew plans to use the 400 block of Main Street and Mike's on Main as part of a pilot.

Hendersonville and Henderson County could be seen on television as the setting of a new reality TV show.
A television crew won permission from the city to film in the 400 block of Main Street on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"We had a production company come to the special events committee asking for permission to film an as-yet-unnamed reality show at a variety of locations in Henderson County," said Lew Holloway, director of the city's Main Street program. "We thought that was pretty exciting and they're clearly excited to be filming in Henderson County."
The production crew asked that traffic be blocked in the 400 block for the filming but wanted the sidewalks and businesses open as usual.
Andrew Tate, president of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, said he had heard of the filming. The effort, he added, had not coordinated with his office, which recruits businesses and plants that provide fulltime jobs.

Shopkeepers had been hearing about the filming this week.
"The only thing I know is (Mike's on Main manager) Patty (Adamic) came in and told me they were going to film inside Mike's on Main," said Eva Ritchey, whose Once Upon a Sign shop is next door to the old-fashioned soda fountain. "They're coming to film part of a pilot."
