Health Department offers free Covid-19 testing Saturday

The Henderson County Health Department will host a walk-in COVID-19 testing site for the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Health Department, 1200 Spartanburg Highway, Suite 100.

Attendees will enter and park at the Department of Social Services entrance facing Old Spartanburg Road. Individuals will then line up inside and be routed into the Health Department testing area. Once tested, attendees will exit on the Public Health side of the building facing Spartanburg Highway.

Testing is open to the community and all are welcome while supplies last. The test comes at no charge while those with insurance are asked to bring their cards. Attendees will have their insurance billed directly to cover costs of the testing. Those without insurance will still be tested at no cost. No one will be turned away. No referral is needed. Community members do not have to be symptomatic to get tested.

The total route from the parking lot to the clinic and the return trip outside is approximately 330 steps. Please come prepared with a raincoat, hats, and/or umbrella. It is highly suggested those who have difficulty walking or standing in line seek future testing opportunities.

In order to keep lines moving, it is requested attendees come with their screening form filled out prior to arrival. The printable form can be found on the Health Department’s main COVID-19 webpage below the dashboard here.
