Detectives add 75 child sexual exploitation charges against man

Henderson County sheriff's detectives added 75 additional charges against Patrick Ryan McFarland, a Keeneland Drive resident who had been charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor last week.

On Wednesday detectives obtained 75 additional arrest warrants charging McFarland with new counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

After serving a search warrant at McFarland's Keeneland Drive on Oct. 7, detectives from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security, charged him with the first count.

The investigation began after detectives received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Evidence was located by detectives inside the home, which is off Howard Gap Road between Clear Creek and Brookside Camp roads. More charges are anticipated as the investigation continues, the sheriff's office said. McFarland is now jailed under a $770,000 bond.
