The Henderson County Planning Department and consultants AECOM are hosting a virtual public meeting to share information and collect public input on preliminary greenway recommendations for the Mud Creek Greenway. The county is hosting the virtual public meeting on its website, hendersoncountync.gov, through Nov. 16.

The Mud Creek Greenway is designed to provide a pedestrian and bicycle connection to people that travel the Kanuga Road corridor and will connect residents and businesses with the future Ecusta Trail. Several alternatives have been developed and will be presented at the virtual public meeting. The preliminary greenway recommendations were developed as part of the Mud Creek Greenway Feasibility Study conducted by Henderson County and AECOM and includes on and off road options, as well as environmental and educational opportunities along the corridor.

At the meeting, attendees can view maps of the proposed alternatives and their respective cross sections, as well as a brief narrated presentation, and can download and review a comprehensive packet containing current plans for the Mud Creek Greenway. Attendees are encouraged to provide comments on the preliminary greenway recommendations by completing the survey provided on the website.
