A.C. Lackey Jr., 81, of Edneyville, NC passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Elizabeth House. He was born in Greenville, SC and had lived in Henderson County for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. Lackey Sr. and Mozelle Moore and a brother, Jerry Lackey. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Belk’s Department Store after 26 years of service, was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, the Edneyville Grange and the Edneyville Community Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Lyda Lackey; two daughters, Carol Lynn Lackey (Pierre) and Terry Gail Baker (Jeff) all of Edneyville; a brother, Eddie “Ed” Moore (Sandra) of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren, Laura Pace, Joseph LaBerge, Chad Baker; two great grandchildren, Taylor Pace and Hunter Pidcock and his canine companion, Sherman. A visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Paul Episcopal Church 1657 St. Paul Road, with Rev. Harriett Shands officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Community Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Henderson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall and at other times will be at the home.
