Myrtle Livingston, 93

Myrtle Livingston, 93, of Fletcher died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the Elizabeth House after a long period of declining health.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Lula Drake Glaspy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Livingston; two sons, Guy Livingston and wife, Clara, Weldon Livingston and wife, Chevie; two sisters, Florence Howell, Maude Soles; four brothers, Floyd, Mack, Bobby, and Walter Glaspy.

She retired from Cranston Print Works after working for many years as a fabric inspector and also assisted with operating a family farm. She was a devout Christian, a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt; she was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church.

She is survived by four grandsons, Rick Livingston and his wife, Brenda of Mills River, Gary Livingston and his wife, Pam of Mills River, Marty Livingston and his wife, Brandi of Fletcher, Doug Livingston of Hendersonville; great-grandchildren, Jason Livingston and his wife, Kelda, Andrew, Lynsey, Madison, and Micah Livingston; several nieces and nephews, along with many friends.

The family would especially like to thank very special friends, Margaret Reed, Vickie and Francis Wilder, and Gary and Gale Wilkie for all of their assistance and care.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors, and at other times at the home on Livingston Road. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Shepherd Memorial Park with Reverend Robbie Glaspy officiating.

She will be missed in her flower gardens on Earth, but we know she will be helping in Heaven's flower gardens. We love you Maw Maw.
