Scott Kenneth Burrell, 47

Scott Kenneth Burrell, 47, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at the Elizabeth House.

He was the son of Kenneth and June Burrell, born Nov. 30, 1966 in Hendersonville. Scott graduated from Edneyville High School in 1985 and served in the 3rd Ranger Battalion, Fort Benning, Ga., from 1987 to 1991. He married Jeannine Dalton in 1987 and they lived together in Hendersonville.

Scott worked as a Sales Rep for Coca Cola and Hershey Food Company. He also was a Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker and Hidden Treasures Property and Land Management.

Scott is also survived by a daughter, Kellie Burrell of Goldsboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Hannah Burrell; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and John Woods and several nieces and nephews.

Scott enjoyed life through his Lord Jesus Christ, many friends and family members. He would like to thank them for their love and their charity they provided him.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Speakers will be Rev. Brian Melton, Rev. Randy Teague and Kellie Burrell.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church and at other times will be at the home.

A private interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made out to the Wounded Warrior Project.
