Kathryn L. Brown, 89

Kathryn L. Brown, 89, joined her Heavenly Father when she passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at her home in Heritage Lodge.

She was preceded in that journey by her beloved husband, Robert M. Brown, her son Rodney M. Brown, her parents L.J. and Gertrude Stanley, and her brother Raymond Stanley.

Born Aug. 12, 1925, in Miami, Fla., she has lived in Henderson County since 1987.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Ken and Connie Brown, of Laurel Park; her grandchildren, Kenneth Brown, Jr. of Sweden and Alison Brown of Aiken, S.C.; her special niece and husband, Linda and Ed Swims, of Asheville; her sister and husband, Ranelle and Tom Duncan of Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathryn's smile and welcoming spirit will live in our hearts and memories forever. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to the staff at Heritage Lodge for all their care, love and attention during her residency. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association are welcomed.

A graveside service for the family will be arranged by Jackson Funeral Service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
