DuPont half-marathon runners to honor Boston victims

DuPont Half Marathon director Greg Walker has asked that participants in Saturday's 13.1-miler wear Boston blue and yellow in tribute to the runners and spectators injured in the Boston Marathon bombings Monday.

"In light of yesterday's tragedy at Boston, I am asking all race volunteers and runners to wear 'Boston Blue & Yellow" on Saturday to show our support," Walker, a veteran distance runner who is Fletcher Parks and Recreation director, said in a news release.
"Many of our race committee has had the privilege and pleasure of competing in the Boston Marathon, and it is truly an amazing event & a great town. We want to show support for the families and the victims affected by this horrible attack, and stand united as part of the wonderful running community."

The race at DuPont State Forest is put on by Fletcher Parks and Recreation and sponsored by Morris Broadband.
