New farm agent covers green industry

Kerrie Roach has begun work as Henderson County's Agriculture Extension agent for commercial and consumer horticulture.

Roach, who has a bachelors in horticulture and masters degree in agriculture education from Clemson University, focuses on the county's retail and wholesale nursery and sod industries, golf courses and residential lawn care.

"If it's green and growing I cover it," she said.

She and her husband, Zach, have sold their home in Seneca, S.C., and will be moving to Henderson County.
