'Oakdale Ramble' introduces folks to cemetery history

‘Wolfe’s Angel’ is one of the historic features residents can learn about during the ‘Oakdale Ramble’ at the city-owned cemetery on U.S. 64.

The Hendersonville Historic Preservation Commission is inviting the community to the "Oakdale Ramble," a first-of-its-kind event at the city cemetery on U.S. 64 West Saturday, Oct. 25.

Visitors are welcome to drop by anytime from 1 to 5 p.m. to explore the new self-guided tour of Oakdale Cemetery. As visitors ramble through Hendersonville’s most iconic cemetery, local historians and cemetery experts will be on hand to share stories and answer questions. Families are encouraged to bring children, who can join in a special scavenger hunt designed just for them — making history engaging, interactive and fun. Parking is available along Valley Street.
