Smart Start hosts book sale Feb. 28-29

Smart Start Partnership for Children is hosting a children’s book sale from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Grace Lutheran Church (1245 6th Avenue West).

For sale will be thousands of new and gently used books for children ages 0-18. Books have been sorted by age and reading level and are priced to sell — most from 50 cents to $2.

All proceeds from the Book Sale will support early literacy in Henderson County through Smart Start’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. The Imagination Library mails a new, age-appropriate book monthly to children from birth (or whenever they register) until their fifth birthday, at no cost to families. Smart Start is currently providing a book each month for over 3.042 local children and all proceeds from the Book Sale will support more Henderson County children to receive books.

For more information about the Children’s Book Sale, to donate books or to register a young child to receive books through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, call Smart Start Partnership for Children at 828-693-1580, visit www.smartstartpfc.org, or find Smart Start Partnership for Children on Facebook or Instagram.
