Activists announce third 'No Kings' rally

Hundreds of demonstrators turned out for a 'No Kings' rally in June 2025.

Indivisible Henderson County and Persist of Henderson County in partnership with Hendersonville Pride, the Henderson County NAACP and Progressive Alliance of Henderson County are organizing “No Kings 3.0” in partnership with Indivisible Project’s nationwide Day of Action on Saturday, March 28, in downtown Hendersonville.

Demonstrators will gather at 1:45 p.m. at the Grove Street Courthouse before marching at 2 p.m. — united and peaceably, organizers say — to the Historic Courthouse on Main Street. Individuals with mobility issues are invited to go directly to the rally at the Historic Courthouse at 2 p.m. Confirmed speakers are:

  • The Rev. Francisco Gonzalez, ordained Baptist minister, decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran, community organizer, founder and leader of Flourish, a contemporary worship gathering.
  • Gina Baxter, member of the Hendersonville City Council.
  • David Lamotte, songwriter, musician, speaker and writer whose TEDx Talks include “Why Heroes Don’t Change the World (but you might)” — a message of hope and empowerment.

Indivisible Henderson County, a volunteer-run, local group, is part of Indivisible Project’s nationwide grassroots movement dedicated to defending a strong, participatory democracy. Persist of Henderson County is a volunteer-led activist group that exists to defend democracy through community engagement.
