Lovers of Big Band sounds from the '30s, '40s, and '50s are invited to join the Hendersonville Swing Band in celebrating “The Return of Swing” on Aug 7. The concert will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church on 900 Blythe Street in Hendersonville. Swing Band members are fun, talented musicians hailing from Henderson, Transylvania, Haywood and Buncombe counties. Directed by trombonist/humorist Jerry Zink and featuring popular Asheville vocalist Tom Donnelly, the 17-piece Hendersonville Swing Band is a fun and much-loved part of the Western Carolina music scene. There is no admission charge and no reservations are needed. A voluntary love offering will be collected to benefit the local and global missions of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
