Sgt. Draper makes USA duathlon team

Retired Master Sgt. Doug Draper, who serves as North Henderson High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps instructor, will represent Henderson County public schools and the rest of the United States at the ITU Duathlon World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, in October.Draper qualified to race for TEAM USA in the 2015 ITU Duathlon World Championships last summer when he competed in the USAT Duathlon National Championship in St. Paul, Minn., and finished 23rd in his age group.As he prepares for the ITU Duathlon World Championships this year, Draper continues to inspire and assist his cadets at North Henderson in their pursuit of improved health.“Health and Wellness is one of many things I get to teach at North Henderson and I’m grateful for the opportunity to provide support and encouragement to the students,” Draper said.   Read Story »

Officers charge local man with bank robbery
