Housing Assistance Corp. names new director

The Housing Assistance Corporation has selected Ashlynn McCoy as its next executive director.

McCoy first joined HAC in 2017 while finishing her Master in Public Affairs degree from Western Carolina University. Since 2018, she directed and expanded the organization's grant and development efforts.

“The Board of Directors, after a diligent search that drew resumes and interests from quality candidates across the region, are pleased to announce the appointment of Ashlynn as our next executive director and it is especially gratifying that the best candidate for the job was a home-grown talent," ” HAC President Hilton Swing said. "Ashlynn has the skills and leadership ability to move our organization forward as we continue to grow and serve the housing needs of our region."
McCoy said: “My goal is to preserve and build upon the incredible 33-year-old legacy that this organization has, while simultaneously looking toward the future with growth in mind. Housing Assistance has a committed Board of Directors, knowledgeable staff with decades of experience, and a community full of volunteers and donors who never fail to support our mission. I am looking forward to working with each of them to serve a community that I am so proud to call my home.”
