A 3-year-old child was flown to Mission Hospital by air ambulance and was being treated on Christmas Day after suffering an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Henderson County's sheriff's office said.

At the time of a news release Saturday afternoon the child was undergoing medical treatment and the current condition was unavailable.
