County announces four public meetings on comp plan

A week after an overflow crowd of county residents implored the Board of Commissioners to do more to prevent sprawl and protect open space and farmland, the county has announced a new round of public input meetings around the county.

"As the county wraps up its new comprehensive plan, which projects to the year 2045, it is essential to garner input from the community members," the county Planning Department said in a news release. "Please drop in at any meeting convenient for you and your family, friends, coworkers."

Staff will provide a presentation on the Draft 2045 Comprehensive Plan at the top of the first hour and second hour of each meeting. Attendees are welcome to stop by at any time throughout the meeting. A discussion and Q&A will follow the presentations. Meetings are set for:

  • 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the main public library in Hendersonville.
  • 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Fletcher library.
  • 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the Edneyville Community Center.
  • 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Thomas Auditorium at BRCC.
