Many local government offices remain closed

Many Henderson County and the city of Hendersonville remain closed for Christmas some days this week. Here's a recap of the closings and garbage pickup schedule.

All Henderson County government offices, agencies and the Henderson County Courthouse are closed Monday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Dec. 27. The Henderson County Public Library and all branches close on Friday, Dec. 23, and remain closed until Wednesday, Dec. 28, when they will reopen with regular business hours.

The Henderson County Animal Services Department resumes regular business hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

All Henderson County offices, agencies, and the Henderson County Courthouse will resume normal operating hours on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

City government offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Dec. 27 in observance of Christmas. City offices will also be closed Monday, Jan. 2 for New Year’s Day. 

No garbage, recycling, brush, or leaf collection will take place on Monday, Dec. 26, or Tuesday, Dec. 27. Collection for customers will be delayed by one week and will resume Friday, Dec. 30; Monday, Jan. 2; and Tuesday, Jan. 3, respectively. Any extra bagged garbage for those customers will be picked up when collection resumes. 

Although city offices will be closed on Jan. 2, collection of garbage, recycling and brush will run as regularly scheduled that day. 

County government offices, agencies, the Henderson County Public Library, the Transfer Station, Convenience Center, Animal Shelter and the Henderson County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of the New Year.  All Henderson County offices, agencies, the Henderson County Public Library, the Transfer Station, Convenience Center, the Animal Shelter, and the Henderson County Courthouse will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
