Christmas tree, styrofoam recycling is Saturday at Jackson Park

The annual Christmas tree recycling takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at ballfield No. 6 at Jackson Park, 640 Glover St.

MountainTrue volunteers will be on hand to accept holiday decorations, wreaths, Christmas lights and Christmas trees. This year, we will also be collecting styrofoam packing materials (no food residue, tape or packing peanuts). Bring a container if you would like mulch. MountainTrue is seeking volunteers for traffic control, to hand out information about MountainTrue and serve cookies and cider, drag trees to the mulcher and taking donations of lights and cards. There are three different time slots for volunteers on this day. Click here to volunteer.
