Vintage Carolina serves up lots of goodies

Friends of the Community Foundation of Henderson County will celebrate homegrown philanthropy at Vintage Carolina March 4.

"There's No Place Like Home" is the theme of this year's gala, an annual event supporting the work of the Community Foundation, a 30-year-old nonprofit public charity that helps people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter.
Vintage Carolina will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 4, at the Hendersonville Country Club at 1860 Hebron Road. The inclement weather date is Monday, March 11. Admission to the event, which includes musical entertainment, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, and samplings of local chefs' finest fare, is $100 per person. The event also will feature a cash bar. Of the $100 admission price, 75 percent is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
Participating restaurants, chefs and sweets purveyors are Chef Starr to Go, the Hendersonville Country Club, Hubba Hubba Smokehouse in partnership with The Fresh Market, Lake Pointe Landing, Lime Leaf Thai Fusion, McConnell Farms Super Premium Ice Cream, Season's at Highland Lake and Van's Chocolates.
Beer and wine will be provided by Burntshirt Vineyards, the Country Vintner, Empire Distributors Inc., Falderal Winery, Highland Brewing Company, Mutual Distributing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Skyland Distributing Company, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, Southern Appalachian Brewery and Tryon Distributing.

Since 1982, the Community Foundation of Henderson County has offered a variety of ways to impact the community through philanthropic giving. Individuals, families and organizations establish funds at the Community Foundation to carry out their charitable giving now and in the future. This past fiscal year, the Community Foundation distributed more than $2.3 million to many nonprofit organizations and scholarship seekers in the Henderson County area and beyond. With assets of more than $69.1 million, the Community Foundation manages more than 490 funds, each with its own unique purpose usually specified by a donor.
