Jennifer Hayes, a human resources specialist who leads activities that build culture and morale and heads up the Pardee Pep Squad, has been named UNC Health Pardee's Teammate of the Year for 2022, the hospital announced. She was honored at Pardee’s annual Service Appreciation and Recognition Banquet on Sept. 19.
Hayes has been with Pardee for 11 years, working in patient registration before moving into her current position with human resources.
“I believe that by recognizing and supporting our teammates we promote a healthy workplace culture where people will want to work,” she said. “I think there is a relationship between the well-being and happiness of teammates and patient care. Happy teammates make for healthy patients.”
Her colleagues described Hayes as "a great leader (who) has restored enthusiasm to the Pardee Pep Squad by engaging us in decisions about how to celebrate our teammates.”
“Our entire Pardee family was thrilled to recognize Jennifer Hayes as Teammate of the Year at our service awards banquet,” said John Bryant, Pardee's vice president of workforce development and community affairs. “Jennifer’s passion, positivity and creativity are the hallmarks of her daily work at Pardee. As the leader of our teammate engagement activities, Jennifer helps create a culture of joy and Pardee Pride. She is a shining example of what it means to lead with the heart in all that you do.”
