WHEELS UP: United starts daily flights to Denver

A United Airlines jet took off from AVL for Denver Friday afternoon, marking the inaugural daily flight linking two thriving regions and offering travelers the convenience of a daily nonstop option connecting to United’s extensive network in the west, Asheville Regional Airport announced.

The nonstop service to Denver International Airport will operate daily on the Embraer 175 with two-class service. Flights depart from Asheville at 4:37 p.m. and arrive at 6:10 (MT) and depart Denver at 10:15 a.m. arrive at AVL at 3:13 p.m.

“We’re excited to bring this new, non-stop flight to Asheville and thank our partners at Asheville Regional Airport and in the community for their continued support,” United’s Mark Weithofer said. “This new flight builds on United’s current service in the Asheville area and will offer customers easier access to Denver and beyond.”

“United is a valued member of the western North Carolina community and airline partner at AVL,” said Lew Bleiweis, President and CEO. “A daily nonstop option to Denver has been on our list for a long time, and we are so pleased to celebrate United’s growth at AVL. Denver has been one of our most requested routes for years and with United’s hub in Denver, this addition will also provide easy connectivity to and from the western United States. It’s a huge deal for our region.”
