UNC Health Pardee fills key leadership roles

UNC Health Pardee announced this week that it had recently filled two key management roles.

Marilee Arnold has been named chief nursing officer and Brian Leutner has been appointed vice president of clinical services, effective Oct. 1. Both Arnold and Leutner have held leadership roles at UNC Health Pardee prior to these appointments.

“I am pleased to welcome Marilee and Brian into their new leadership roles,” said Jay Kirby, president and CEO of UNC Health Pardee. “They are both well respected throughout the organization and have proven to be strong and effective leaders.”

Arnold joined the organization in December 2020 as the administrative nursing director over the Emergency Department, PATHS, Clinical Education and Trauma departments and began serving as CNO in an interim capacity in February 2023. As CNO, Arnold oversees daily operational, administrative and nursing procedures. She focuses on coordinating and maintaining the functionality of the nursing department and serves as the voice and advocate for the entire nursing staff.

“I am deeply honored to lead Pardee’s nursing services team,” she said. “Our nursing and patient care teams are incredibly talented and I look forward to supporting this team’s commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate care to our community.” Arnold earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Wyoming and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis.

Leutner joined Pardee in December 2019 as administrative director of clinical services, overseeing the Oncology, Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Outpatient Infusion departments. As the vice president of clinical services Leutner will oversee the daily operations and functions of the hospital while ensuring efficient services are delivered to meet the needs of patients seeking care at Pardee. “I am excited and looking forward to being a part of the continued growth which in turn provide more services for our community,” he said

A U.S. Army veteran, Leutner earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University and his Master of Business Administration from Wilmington University in Delaware.
