NWS issues winter weather advisory for county

Henderson County has been placed under a winter weather advisory as heavier rains were expected to begin for most of the county around 6 Tuesday evening. The National Weather Service advisory warns of a chance of freezing rain through 7 a.m. Wednesday with a tenth to a quarter inch coating of ice possible.

The forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain Wednesday through the night. The rain chance drops to 60 percent Thursday with a high near 58. Friday should be sunny but cool, with a high of 48, before rain returns over the weekend.
