Orange Capital has officially broken ground on Evado at Tap Root, a 270-unit upscale apartment complex on Butler Bridge Road between Fletcher and Mills River.
Situated on 20 acres with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the multifamily community designed for both local professionals and newcomers seeking nature-rich, wellness-focused living. Signature amenities of the property include:
Residences will feature upscale finishes, including stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, 9-foot ceilings, washer/dryers in every unit and polished concrete floors on select first-floor apartments. The apartments also boast open and spacious units with oversized balconies.
“The Evado brand was built around the concept of escape—evado means ‘to escape’ in Latin,” said McFaddin Blanding, president of Orange Capital. “With Tap Root, we’re extending that mission into the mountains of North Carolina by creating a lifestyle-centered community anchored in purposeful design, strong local partnerships, and long-term value.”
The development marks the second installment of the Evado brand and a strategic move into the high-demand Asheville market.
The general contractor on-site is CF Evans Construction, an Evans Management Group subsidiary. Other partners include PDI Architecture and Dangerfield Engineering & Surveying. Completion of Evado Tap Root is projected for the summer of 2027.
