The city of Hendersonville is opening applications to qualifying nonprofit organizations for funding focused on mental health and substance abuse treatment and support services.
The application period begins on Monday, Sept. 1 at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.15.
The funding totals $300,000 and each organization is eligible for a maximum award of $50,000. Funding can only be used for programmatic costs and cannot be spent on personnel or routine operating costs, according to a press release from the city.
Programs will be reviewed to determine their relevance to mental health and substance abuse treatment and services. Successful applicants will be required to enter into an agreement on a form provided by the city. Non-profits will receive funding through invoice reimbursements for services, instead of a single lump-sum payment.
