Wiener named to lead BRCC Ed Foundation

Blue Ridge Community College has named Jamie Wiener the new executive director of the Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation, effective Wednesday, BRCC announced.

Wiener brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, donor engagement, financial management, and strategic planning. Most recently, she served as executive director of Hendersonville’s Children & Family Resource Center, where she led significant growth in funding, launched innovative programs such as the Grow, Learn, Outreach Mobile Preschool on Wheels and championed trauma-informed practices to strengthen community support.

“Jamie’s track record of visionary leadership and community impact makes her an outstanding choice to guide our Educational Foundation into its next chapter,” Laura B. Leatherwood, president of Blue Ridge Community College, said in a news release. “Her expertise and passion for service will help us continue building meaningful opportunities for students and strengthening our community partnerships.”

Wiener holds an MBA from Western Carolina University and a bachelor's degree from Mars Hill University, and is a SHRM-certified human resources professional.

“Education has always been a core value for me,” she said. “I’ve seen firsthand the impact of early education, and I also deeply appreciate the opportunities created through higher education. I am excited to lead the Educational Foundation in supporting Blue Ridge’s faculty and cultivating the future leaders of Henderson and Transylvania counties.”

The Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation is a nonprofit that supports the college’s students, faculty and programs through fundraising. The Foundation has been instrumental in helping many students continue and complete their education following Hurricane Helene through scholarships and emergency financial aid. Guided by a volunteer board of directors, the Foundation helps advance Blue Ridge’s mission to transform lives through education and strengthen the workforce.
