Jake Johnson announces re-election campaign for state House

State Rep. Jake Johnson has announced his campaign for re-election to the state House in District 113, made up of Polk and parts of Rutherford, McDowell and Henderson counties.

In the last state budget alone, Johnson secured over $120 million for his district and nearly $2 billion Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene — investments that strengthen local infrastructure, public safety, and economic growth, said Johnson, who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Committee and serves as deputy majority whip. He was re-elected to the House by a margin of 67-33 last year.

Johnson said his campaign would focus on:

●      Keeping North Carolina safe: Tough on crime and illegal immigration.

●      Defending core values: Strongly pro-life and a proud supporter of the Second Amendment.

●      Growing the economy: Continue reducing taxes and regulations to support working families and entrepreneurs.

“Western North Carolina deserves a strong, consistent voice in Raleigh,” Johnson said. “I could not be prouder of what we have been able to accomplish, but the work is not complete. I’ll continue fighting to keep our communities safe, our economy strong and our freedoms protected.”
