Pardee wins top ratings for numerous services

UNC Health Pardee has achieved numerous distinctions for exceptional clinical performance from Healthgrades, the leading resource Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital, the provider announced.

Among Pardee’s recognitions is the Healthgrades Stroke Care Excellence Award for the seventh consecutive year, placing the hospital among the top performers nationwide for stroke care. Pardee was also Five-Star rated for six services, including treatment of stroke (11 years in a row), heart attack (seven years), sepsis (15 years), respiratory failure (18 years), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (five years), and, for the first time, treatment of colorectal surgeries.

“At Pardee, our clinicians and caregivers never stop striving to improve the care they provide,” said James M. Kirby II, president and CEO of UNC Health Pardee. “These distinctions from Healthgrades reflect our ongoing investment in people, technology, and training to make that possible and to ensure our patients receive the safest, most effective care possible.”

UNC Health Pardee’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. Each year, Healthgrades evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top hospitals in key specialty areas, including heart attack and stroke. Through easy-to-understand, objective measures of hospital performance, Healthgrades empowers patients with the information they need to find a hospital that excels in their procedure or condition.
