The City of Hendersonville is assisting with two donation drives, one supporting local families with food and personal care items and another providing toys and necessities for foster children.
Donations for both drives are being collected at City Hall located at 160 6th Ave. E. from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and are being accepted through Friday, Dec. 5.
The city is partnering with Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM) to host a donation drive to support neighbors in need.
IAM is a non-profit organization partnering with the faith community that assists members of Henderson County experiencing crisis with basic needs, in an atmosphere of compassion and respect.
This donation drive is collecting non-perishable food and personal care items. Some of the most-needed items include:
• Canned soup
• Canned tuna or chicken
• Cereal and dry pasta
• Men’s deodorant
• Dish soap and shampoo
• Body wash
• Baby wipes and diapers (sizes 4–7)

In addition to City Hall, donations can also be dropped off Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:
• Fire Station 1 Lobby – 851 North Main Street
• Fire Station 2 Lobby – 632 Sugarloaf Road
The city is also partnering with the Henderson County Department of Social Services to donate gifts and essentials to foster children who need a little extra cheer.
This drive is collecting toys and activities. Some of the most-needed items include:
• Developmental toys for ages birth-2 years old
• Puzzles and family board games
• Magna-Tiles, Legos or building blocks
• Books for all ages
Necessities for foster children include:
• Diapers
• Wipes
• Pull-ups (larger sizes 2 and up are especially needed)
