Pisgah Forest charged with child-porn offenses

Hendersonville police last week arrested a 28-year-old Pisgah Forest man on two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor for possession of child pornography.

George Stanley Conrad III, a resident of Hendersonville when the crimes were alleged to have been committed, was held at the Henderson County jail without bond on Feb. 19.
The city police detectives in the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit after receiving a tip in relation to Conrad worked closely with the State Bureau of Investigation, the Henderson County District Attorney's Office and the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office throughout the investigation. Conrad's arrest came as part of a joint operation between the Hendersonville Police Department, Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office and the SBI. While child pornography is not a victimless crime, there are no known victims locally.
