Documentary on Bearcat basketball titles premieres Friday

Two events honoring Hendersonville High School will take place this month as the school celebrates the 100th anniversary of the construction of its current building, designed by renowned architect Erle Stillwell.

“The Chapel Hill Two-Step,” filmmaker Keith Dunnavant’s documentary chronicling state championships by the boys basketball team in 1992 and both the boys and girls Bearcat squads in 1987, premieres at 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the school auditorium. Tickets are $19.26 in honor of the school building centennial. Buy them in advance at hhsaa.com or at the door.

The HHS Alumni Association will commemorate the school building’s centennial with a program from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the auditorium. Speakers will share their memories and notable events of the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
