Fruitland area churches to celebrate Block Blast

Several churches in the Fruitland/Edneyville communities will host the 19th Annual Block Blast from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the field behind Fruitland Baptist Church, 150 College St., directly across from the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Gilliam Road off of Fruitland Road. The Block Blast is an event for the entire family.
There will be live music throughout the day, as well as booths and displays, old fashioned games, a dunking booth, pony rides and many other activities (booths, games and other activities will be from 1:30 – 4 p.m.) Several musical performers and other church groups will perform throughout the afternoon. Door prizes, which have been donated by area merchants, will be given away throughout the day.
A meal of barbecued chicken, barbecued pork, hot dogs, cole slaw, baked beans and all the trimmings will be served at 4 p.m. All of the activities and the meal are free and all are invited and encouraged to attend.
