Bear auction set for Saturday

The 11th annual Bearfootin' Art Auction at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Henderson County Courthouse plaza in downtown Hendersonville features the sale of the 2013 edition of the Main Street Bears.

Bidder registration begins at 2:30 p.m. and will be accompanied by a jazz band.

The live auction will be conducted by Stan Shelley of Shelley's Jewelers. The sale includes a chance to bring home one of the 13 bears that were a part of the 2013 Bearfootin' Public Art Walk. The bears feature designs that range from festive to whimsical to historic. Proceeds benefit downtown Hendersonville and non-profits in the community.
