Patty's Chapel at Howard Gap to close for a week

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Patty’s Chapel Road at the intersection of Howard Gap Road in Fletcher starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, to grade and realign the intersection. The road is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.

 
During the closure, the signed detour route will be along Howard Gap Road and Jackson Road.
 
The work is part of a $9.3 million contract to widen Howard Gap Road from Jackson Road in Fletcher to just south of Brookside Camp Road in Henderson County. Project contractor is Tennoca Construction Co. of Candler.
 
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
