Long-serving library director to retire

Bill Snyder, who has been Henderson County library director for 25 years, is retiring next month. In addition to his time here, he has worked with other public libraries his entire career.

"This has been a great place to work," he told the Board of Commissioners on Monday night. "I think after 42 years, I won't say I've run out of ideas, but I've run out of fresh ones. I think it's time for a new generation to take over."
Trina Rushing, administrative librarian, will take over as interim library director on Oct. 1.
"I appreciate your confidence in me," Rushing said, "and I do look forward to continue leading the library system in its services to the residents of this county."
