Mills River grants $157,000 contract for tennis courts

MILLS RIVER — Residents should be able to play tennis at the new Mills River Town Park by this fall.

The Town Council on Thursday granted a contract for $157,056 to Tarheel Paving to build the four tennis courts bordered by a black vinyl-coated fence. The work does not include lighting.

The town was able to add the tennis court thanks to a donation of $75,000 from Councilman Wayne Carland and his family.
