LIGHTNING PHOTOS: It's back! Rhythm & Brews kicks off busy weekend

Music fans enjoy the first Rhythm & Brews concert of the season.

The Rhythm & Brews concert series kicked off its third season Thursday night with the Allen Thompson band and a good-sized crowd on a gorgeous spring night.

The concert was the first of a full lineup of musical events and festivals over the holiday weekend. Garden Jubilee will bring tens of thousands of plant shoppers to Main Street on Saturday and Sunday. In Brevard, the White Squirrel Festival features bands from Friday night through Sunday evening. The Jump Off Rock Festival cranks up beach music and classic rock Saturday afternoon at 4 and the Carl Sandburg Folk Music Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site in Flat Rock.
