Bears go on auction block Saturday (2)

The 13th annual Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk comes to a close with the annual Bearfootin’ Art Walk Auction on Saturday.

Bidder registration and live entertainment starts at 2:30 p.m. followed by the auction at 4:30. On Monday, the bears congregated at the Historic County Courthouse Square one last time before they head to their permanent homes.

Last year’s auction was a record event with proceeds topping $35,000. The proceeds directly support the local non-profits each bear represents along with the city’s downtown development program, which hosts and produces the annual Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk.
