Local resident gets prison on multiple charges

A Hendersonville resident was sentenced to more than seven years in prison after pleading guilty in Henderson County Superior Court to 15 criminal charges, District Attorney Greg Newman said.

Lana Norton Reece, of 60 Corey Lane, pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine, Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense, two counts of Possess Counterfeit Instrument, two counts of Uttering, two counts of Identity Theft, Financial Card Fraud, Financial Card Theft, and Failure to Appear. Superior Court Judge Alan Thornburg  sentenced Reece to a total of seven years and four months in prison.

In another case, Barry Fussell, of Burgaw, pleaded guilty to Felony Breaking and Entering and was sentenced to 33 months in prison.

Thornburg heard the cases in a term of Superior Court Jan. 3-13.
