New signs welcome people to Hendersonville

New gateway signs are welcoming motorists to Hendersonville on two major highways, with more to come.

The signs have been installed on Four Seasons Boulevard at Dana Road and on Asheville Highway at Five Points.

The Hendersonville City Council during recent budget-crafting workshops had made the gateway signs a priority, City Manager John Connet.

Following the color scheme and look of the new wayfinding seasons in the county, the first two signs are larger ones in a horizontal format. “The same company that did the wayfinding signs did those signs,” Connet said. “We wanted them to match the wayfinding signs.” Smaller vertical signs (depicted at right) will go up on narrower roads. “Imagine that sign near the Oakdale Cemetery as you come in on 64,” he said.
