APPLE FESTIVAL GUIDE: Daily schedule

Here's the schedule of events this weekend.

 

SATURDAY

Saturday is a busy day at the Apple Festival with the street fair, the live entertainment, multiple special events occurring throughout Henderson County and of course the fried apple pies. The street fair will run from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. while the entertainment, children’s area, and food court will run until 10 p.m. Please the entertainment schedule and event schedule for all the happenings.

Lions Club Big Country Breakfast 7 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.
Street Fair
10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Apple Festival Races. 8-10 a.m. 805 Sixth Avenue West (Pardee UNC Health Care). Presented by Hunter Subaru and the Chamber of Commerce, road races include 8k, team of 4 5k and Chick Fil-A MiniMoo Run. Top 3 male and female finishers in age groups win awards. Fees: team $100, Mini-moo $10, 8k $40. GOOD FILE PHOTOS

Apple tour 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Includes apple variety block research orchard, packing house, direct market apple stand. Apples, snacks and lunch are available for purchase at the last stop. Advance registration required by calling 828-697-4891. Fee $20.

Local market 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Historic Seventh Avenue District (Maple Street at historic depot). Fresh produce and other local foods.

Apple Taste Testing/Beekeepers Educational Booth10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Henderson County Heritage Museum 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Historic Downtown Hendersonville Sidewalk Sales 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Mineral and Lapidary Museum 10 a.m.-6 p.m.


38th Annual Henderson County Gem & Mineral Show 10 a.m.-6 p.m.


Laurel Park Village Shopping Center Car Show and Music Event, 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.


Vintage Tees at Piggys & Harrys, 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. (T-shirts from many of the 73 years of the Apple Festival)


Local Farmers Market, Henderson County building, 100 N. King St., 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Pardee Hospital First Aid Tent, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

SUNDAY

Sunday offers the street fair, the Apple Orchard Bike tour, the Gem & Mineral Spectacular, and much more! The street fair will run 10 a.m-8 p.m. while the entertainment, children’s area, and food court will run until 10 p.m.

Henderson County Heritage Museum 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Main Street Baptist Church Activities, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Come to Sunday worship and afterwards leave your car in the parking lot for free. Free balloons.

MONDAY

The festival comes to a close on Labor Day with the King Apple Parade, an All-American favorite of visitors and locals alike. The street fair is downsized since we have to remove some of the vendors north of the Historic Courthouse to make room for the parade. The King Apple Parade rolls at 2:30 p.m. rain or shine.
