ArtScape committee seeks artists, volunteers

The ArtScape Banner Committee is seeking artists' work for the annual outdoor public art exhibit downtown and volunteers to help with an artists' reception and other work.

“The ArtScape Committee is making plans for next year’s exhibit, and we have exciting projects that volunteers may enjoy,"  ArtScape chair Diane Dean said. "From planning the opening reception, to helping with the website, and/or coordinating the brochure production, there are a number of ways volunteers can jump in and help out. Our Committee will be happy with your assistance.”

A total of 40 artists will be chosen to participate in the 2020 show, including four young artists. Artists must live in Henderson County and be 18 years or older. Young artists will be chosen in the age categories of 6 to 11 years and 12 to 17 years old. Artists may apply to the juried show beginning Oct. 12 through mid-January 2020. Deadline and details will be set and available at www.artscapehvl.org soon. Next year’s outdoor art gallery will be on exhibit from April 2020 to March 2021.

In addition, those wishing to sponsor one or more banners in the 2020 show will save on the cost of sponsorship by signing up before the end of this year. For more information visit www.artscapehvl.org.

The annual show on Main Street, the Historic Seventh Avenue District and the downtown avenues creates a unique twist on an outdoor gallery experience. For more information or to volunteer, contact Diane Dean at artist@dianedean.com or 843-247-1368 or visit www.artscapehvl.org.
